The Swimming Complex

The Swimming Ground of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca is dedicated to a large public, from children, to students, undergraduates, sportsmen, adults, as it is one of the most agreeable place for sports and relaxation in our city.

The ground has a small sized and two large swimming pools: the outdoor pool, open during the summer, has Olympic sports dimensions (50x25 meters, 10 lanes with block-starts, while the indoor pool has the following features: 50x18 meters, 7 lanes with block-starts, water temperature: 26 -28 ºC, room temperature: 28 - 30 ºC. Water quality is permanently tested chemically and microbiologically. The pools also have a very modern automated treatment plant. The small pool (12 x 6 meters), has a water temperature of 28 – 32° C, and it is 1, 20 – 1, 40 m deep. Lockers and showers at two levels, lecture halls, a medical hall, and a multifunctional room for various sports activities are added to the main building. More than 600 spectators can be accommodated, and a guest house of 35 beds can also be used.

Various activities occur on the Swimming Ground, from sports and physical education classes, to swimming lessons, swimming and water polo competitions, to entertainment and relaxation in a pleasant and healthy environment.

The swimming pools also have a rescue service running during the working hours. The public can use the swimming pools according to the timetable, either by paying their tickets or by subscription. The university staff and students benefit from a reduction of the tickets price.
