Foreign students coming to Romania for studies need a visa from the Romanian Embassy in their country. Extensions of visas are obtained after an application form is filled in at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca – Admissions Office. The registering with the Police should be made within the first 2 days after arrival in Cluj-Napoca, at the Foreigners' Registration Office (str. Andrei Muresanu nr. 12, Tel:
40-264-401002). The offices opening hours are 12.00-14.00, from Monday to Friday, except for the last Friday of each month, when the office is closed.
Documents required by police are:

The application form filled in and endorsed by the University Admission Office;

Evidence of the payment of the visa fee;

A tenancy agreement issued by the University managed housing or by tenants outside the University;

2 identical passport-sized photos;
The visa fee for the self-financing students is $60 (for multiple entries) and $25 (for one entry) for the period covered by the already paid tuition fees. An emergency fee is of $6.
The students who study more than 3-4 months in the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca will receive a Student Card to be endorsed at the extension of the visa by the Foreigner's Registration Office . A delay in your registration with the Police can be fined.
