The Department of Automation
The Department of Automation belongs to the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science. The department's academic staff teaches subjects related to control system engineering to undergraduates and graduates of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Science as well as to other students of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.

The Computer Science Department
The main objectives of the Computer Science Department of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca are to provide outstanding higher education and to carry out high level research in the field of computer science and engineering .
The specificity of the education offered by the department is targeting (i) the study and design of computer and network system's components from both hardware and software perspectives and (ii) to offer multiple specialization alternatives, such as: computer architecture design, software engineering, artificial intelligence, operating systems, database design, compiler design, transactional systems, computer networks and distributed systems. As a result, our graduates could equally work as researchers and designers of basic hardware and software components, as designers of complex application software or as systems engineers and network administrators.

The Mathematics Department
The Department of Mathematics was set up in 1952, four years after the Institute of Mechanics (first name of T.U.C.N.) had been founded. Now the department is a part of The Faculty of Automation and Computer Sciences , but it ensures the mathematical education of all the students of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca .
