Admission

Objectives: The Faculty of Civil Engineering of Cluj-Napoca trains diploma engineers in the fields of civil engineering within the framework of 3 profiles and 5 specializations with the duration of studies of 4 years.
The graduates of the Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Buildings profile are prepared for the design, erection, maintenance and rehabilitation of a large range of buildings: dwelling houses, office buildings, socio-cultural buildings, industrial plant buildings, agricultural and stock raising halls, special buildings (tanks, water towers, tunnels, silos). At the beginning of the first year of study, students make their options for attending courses in Romanian or English; the applicants to the English courses are selected through a test in English proficiency.

The graduates of the Railways, Rads and Bridges profile are prepared for the development of substructure, especially the substructure of highways, roads, bridges and railways.

The graduates of the Engineering and Management in Constructions profile are prepared for the design, erection, service of civil, industrial and agricultural buildings, and for the adjacent economic domain improvement.

The graduates of the Geodesic Engineering profile are prepared to become specialists in land measurement ane elaboration of documentations for the Real Estate Register (Cadastre) in urban and rural areas, agriculture, stocks of wood and facilities for buildings.

* Admission : For the academic year 2008-2009 there were allocated 420 no tuition fee places and 640 tuirion fee-paid places for long-term education studies with courses in Romanian or English.

The admission is based on a file competition. The Bacalaureat examination average represented 50% and the multi-annual average of the high school in Mathematics represent the other 50% of the entrance average.

The annual tuitition fee is 3300 RON and 3500 RON for the specializations taught in English.
