The Applied Electronics Department

The Applied Electronics Department was founded in 1990, following the reorganisation of the Technical University of Cluj - Napoca. Since then, young academics interested in personal development and the progress of research and education have joined the initial experienced academic staff.

The courses delivered by the academic staff from the department are targeted to long – term education students (10 semesters), for the specializations Telecommunications and Electronics, to those enrolled in the Technical, Business and Administration College (6 semesters) for the specializations Electronics as well as Communications and Postal Services, and to the students enrolled in post graduate and Master of Sciences studies.

The domain covered by the Communications Department includes subjects such as Materials, Passive Components and Circuits, Electronic Devices and Circuits Design, Technological Design of Equipment, Data Conversion and Acquisition Basis, Computer Assisted Design, Power Electronics, Command and Control Electronics, Electronic Equipment, Medical Electronics, Automotive, Microcontrollers Systems, Testing of Electronic Equipment, Pheripheral Equipment, Dedicated Electronic Systems, Digital Image Processing etc.

Besides the didactic activity (activities with the students, elaboration of didactic materials – courses, exercise books, guidebooks) the academic staff has also been involved in national/international research and academic programmes.
