The Rector's Message

The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN) is an elite university of Romania, representing a field of academic and scientific excellence, unanimously recognized at regional, national and international level.

It has developed continuously, largely reflecting the requirements and evolution of the Romanian society in recent years, and by merging four years ago with the North University of Baia Mare, the first of its kind at the national level, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca extended the fields of competence to fundamental sciences, socio-human sciences, and arts.

Thus, according to the international exigencies of our times, characterized by dynamism in mind and action, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca has always been among those academic institutions with traditions and values which have led and lead to prosperity and progress in society.

 The complex structure gives our university a strong regional dimension, which personalizes it and fundamentally differentiates it from other universities in the country. The UTCN brand is actually the brand of technology, advanced scientific research, innovation and artistic creation in this area of Romania.
